What's Happening:
There is a lot going on at Algiers Riverview and in
the Algiers Point area.
Construction on the first group of
units at Algiers Riverview has really kicked into high
gear thanks to Mike McCullough and his team at
Archway
Construction. At present the exteriors of the
buildings are nearing completion and we have been told
that sheetrock is only a couple weeks away. The
site infrastructure is also moving ahead very well.
Mike is telling us that the first group of units should
be completed and ready for occupancy in about ten weeks.
Only 8 units remain available for
sale in Phase I and we expect these units to sell out
shortly. Although we are not presently taking
reservations on units in Phase II, we hope to open this
up within the next two months.
There is also a lot getting ready to
happen at the Naval Base in Algiers Point, as it is
converted into Federal City. Word is that the
Coast Guard has awarded a contract for the construction
of their facility at Federal City, which is less than
1/2 mile away from Algiers Riverview, and that
construction should start during August or September.
Groundbreaking for the rest of this $750,000,000 project
is also scheduled for September.
